Thato is a South African artist whose work transports reality into an abstract dimension of primitive shapes and exact patterns, entrusting narration to the balance of forms and shades.

Prevalently minimal and static, devoted to a single subject and sometimes monochromatic, the artist's compositions possess an unmistakable expressiveness and might be read as visual puns together with their title. Despite comprising very few elements and often relying on formal repetition, each artwork is unique and capable of conveying emotions creating a compelling atmosphere.

Recently involved also in programmable art and NFT music, through his practice Thato keeps sparking reflection on the most varied themes, striding towards the next artistic frontier with great mastery.
